It’s a fireball!
Yes, for the first time in my life I’ve seen a fireball during the Leonid meteor shower last week! ;-) Enchanting! I wished I could freeze it and look at it longer!
I savoured every second that I could still see the trail of glitter it left on the night sky. Stardust! It was such an aha and wow moment!
My small digicam wasn’t powerful enough to capture it, so I got this from the internet. It looked something like this:
Meteors, also known as ”shooting stars” are very brief streak of light in the sky. A fireball is an unusually large and bright meteor. Shooting stars are very much part of me. I remember when I was in my hometown (Cataingan, Masbate) - my sisters, friends, and I would look at the night sky and wait for the shooting star to say our wish!
My hometown had (and still has) a problem with electricity. Sometimes there’s power black out for a day, or for days, or for weeks, or even for months. Haha. Well, one good thing about it is - we have all the night sky to enjoy! The darker the place is, the brighter the sky gets!
I never realised that and never appreciated as much till I moved to a first world country, abundant in light - Singapore.
This is a place where to see a number of stars is a luxury!
